🏠 Virtual Casework BuddyEmergencyHousing.CA · /caseworker/ · v1.3.1

What are we working on today?

I'm the Buddy β€” expert triage, not a chatbot. I don't decide your case and I don't store anything. I read what you tell me, match it against EmergencyHousing.CA's whole public ecosystem β€” toolkit, pathways, directory, helpline database (2,075 lines), Benefit Scanner, Vault, LegalScape emergency package, CourtBuddy, ZeroNote, Practitioner Training and the Welcome Guide β€” and put it in one sensible order, together. Pick every door that applies. Overlapping problems get overlapping pathways, on purpose.

πŸ”’ Privacy, in plain language: No account. No login. Nothing you type leaves this browser, is sent to analytics, or is saved on a server. There is no AI service here β€” recommendations come only from the Resource Registry in this folder. Print or save your plan before you close the tab, or it is gone. Do not type a full name, address, SIN, or document number anywhere on this page.

Step 1 β€” Pick every door that fits 10 doors

πŸ“š The whole map β€” Resource & Tool Registry

This is the Buddy's brain, and it is deliberately boring: a maintained list of real tools, with what each one is for, who it is for, which situations it fits, which programs and laws it touches, and its warnings. The Buddy recommends only entries from this list β€” it never invents a link. Developers: edit registry.json, keep the same fields, and the Buddy picks the new tool up wherever its situations fit.

Three questions, every case

  1. What is happening, and what needs attention first? Safety, then deadlines, then money, then rights, then applications.
  2. Which existing tools, resources and pathways are relevant? Only registry entries, in a sensible order, with why each one matters.
  3. What should the person or worker do next? A printable plan: concerns, resources, checklist, actions, and the questions still open.

Plus two the brief added: what rights or forms, and what community services, may help β€” and a BenefitScanner-style result: a short scan animation, then a staged, readable result you can print.

Built for EmergencyHousing.CA from a live inventory of the site on 2026-10-26 (homepage 9 doors, /toolkit/ 23 tools, /pathways/ 9 confirmed pathways, /ondir/ 6,295 records, /helpline/ 2,075 lines, /benefitscanner/ 102 programs, /vault/, /LegalScape/ 18 documents + Express package, /OCB/ 7 calculators + 104 forms + 2,088 directory listings, /ZeroNote/, /Training/IHBCMGR/ 27 modules, /welcome/ guide with 827-listing food page). Registry entries that could not be opened and confirmed that day were left out or linked to their hub, not guessed. If a link moves, fix it in registry.json β€” one place, one fix, everywhere. v1.3.0 completes the pathways hub (all 9 pathways) and adds key dates, tenant applications and a complex example (see CHANGELOG): whole-ecosystem registry (80 entries), triage, service-animal vs pet law, Welcome, emergency-removal and family-court pathways (see CHANGELOG).
